Thanks, Craig. We're planning to drive to Chalet Sylvie in Courchevel 1550, so would appreciate directions to find the chalet within the resort, and details of parking provision. Marcus

Hi Marcus.
Chalet Sylvie is absolutely lovely - a great choice. Ski Power send out joining instructions approximately 2 weeks before your holiday. These are sent to the e-mail address registered on our web site when you made the booking. But I will detail a brief summary below.
Parking at Chalet Sylvie is right outside the front door. The chalet is located down a private gated cul de sac and has its own private parking for 2 cars immediately outside. Chalet Pascale has the same provisions and is next door, so there are 4 spaces between the 2 chalets. We feel it is very unlikely that there will be more than 4 cars at any time as the chalets sleep 8 each.
Directions:
If you are driving from Geneva, we would advise you to take the route around Lake Annecy (A41, N508) , as this avoids some of the traffic and is very scenic. You then follow signs to Albertville.
If you are approaching from Lyon, head towards Chambery from Lyon. Once at Chambery follow the signs for Albertville. From Albertville follow signs for Moutiers. When you get to Moutiers you will arrive at a main junction (overhead signage for three different routes). To head towards Courchevel / La Tania please take the middle lane signed towards Meribel/Courchevel.
After approximately three miles you will reach a junction for Meribel (you do NOT want to take this turn off), ensure you are in the left hand lane and proceed under the bridge continuing to follow signs to Courchevel. Proceed through La Perriere and then continue until you reach a roundabout. At the roundabout turn right, still following signs for Courchevel.
Follow the mountain road, proceeding through St Bon and a few other villages, until you reach Le Praz (approx 7km after the roundabout), as you come through Le Praz (Courchevel 1300) you will reach a small roundabout (you will be able to see the Olympic Ski Jump at this point). Take the second exit at this roundabout following the signs for Courchevel 1850/1650 and 1550 and proceed up the hill.
As you come to the second sharp turn to the left you will see a sign to the right for Courchevel 1550. Take this right turn. Proceed into 1550
Chalet Pascale/Sylvie: These two chalets are located in a new gated development just below the Hotel Chanrossa on the left hand side of the road you are now on. The gateway to the development can be found approximately 70 meters before you reach the Hotel. Once through the gate, the two chalets are the first two buildings on the right hand side.

Hi, Craig.
We're planning to drive to Chalet Beauvallon in Latania, so would appreciate directions to find the chalet within the resort (maybe coordenates for GPS), and details of parking provision. Thanks

Hi.
Full instructions including directions for drivers are sent out to the e-mail address registered when you made the booking 2 weeks before you arrive. The post codes here in france are quite unreliable, for example all of La Tania is covered by one post code !!!! So they are not great for directions. The post code for La Tania is 73125.

Hi, Craig
We're driving out to Courchevel 1550 later this week. What is the situation regarding the need for snow chains? Just discovered our chains don't fit our current car!

Hi Marcus.
Right now there is no need for snow chains and the roads are completely clear. It is forecast to hit minus 10 this weekend though with quite a bit of precipitation (which should mean snow !!!)
Even if there is no snow, at minus 10 the roads will turn quite icy and snow chains will be required.
Please note you are under a legal obligation to have snow chains in your vehicle when driving in the mountains.

For those of you driving to the Chanrossa in Courchevel 1550 there is limited parking at the Hotel, however there is a covered car park close by which is free, if that is full there is a another car park about 500 yards away at the top end of 1550 as you join the main road to 1650.

Hi I'm afraid we don't have direction from there. I would strongly suggest that you skirt around the bottom of the alps and come in from the western side. Otherwise you will get caught up in the mountain passes which are closed. Most Sat Navs will try and take you over the mountain passes so please be very aware of this as it is very frustrating to get 40Km away and find that you have a large mountain in the way that takes 5 hours to get around.

Hi Craig we are driving to the Chanrossa in two weeks time and our joining instructions say the nearby underground car park now charges in resort.
How much is it to park for the week and how do you pay. Can we do this in advance through ski power to reserve a space?
Also, it seems to have snowed every Friday and Saturday over the last couple of weeks. Have people been able to drive to resort ok on transfer days?
Any tips will be gratefully received!!
